Hornsey N8 bathroom: microcement project
This Hornsey N8 bathroom project used microcement as the visible wall and surface finish in place of conventional tiled areas. The customer selected the colour, and the installation schedule allowed for the staged application and drying of the finish.
Unlike a conventional tiled appearance, microcement can provide a continuous-looking surface with fewer visible joints. However, the finish should not be treated as waterproof on its own: performance in wet areas depends on the specified complete system, suitable substrate preparation, waterproofing where required, compatible sealers, correct application and ongoing care. The details need to be assessed for each room.
Project duration and historical cost
The recorded project lasted 50 working days and had a labour price of £12,000 excluding materials. These figures describe this completed project only, not a current price quotation.
