Bathroom Renovation in Northfields, Ealing

This completed bathroom renovation in Northfields, Ealing, West London, transformed two separate rooms into one carefully finished space. Originally, the bathroom and WC had their own entrances and were divided by a wall. The renovation brought both spaces together, with the original WC doorway retained as the entrance and the former bathroom door removed.

The layout, tile selection and overall interior design followed the customer’s own preferences. ARDECO carried out the building preparation, extensive plastering, tiling and fitting installation needed to turn that design into a finished space.

The finished room combines a classic-style bath and fittings with distinctive patterned floor tiles, new wall tiling and brass-coloured details. The original separate WC is now part of the same bathroom.

Bathroom and WC Renovation: Scope of Work

Combining two rooms: removal of the dividing wall between the bathroom and separate WC.
Entrance alterations: removal of the former bathroom door while retaining the existing WC doorway as the entrance to the combined space.
Extensive wall preparation: removal of deteriorated old plaster back to the brickwork due to the age and condition of the existing walls.
Deep replastering: substantial new plasterwork to prepare the exposed masonry and provide a sound, even finish.
Ceiling refurbishment: complete new plastering to the ceiling.
Tiling: installation of new wall and floor tiles selected in accordance with the customer’s design.
Final installation: fitting of the bathroom and WC sanitaryware, brass-coloured fittings and accessories.

Deep Plastering and Wall Preparation

The existing wall plaster was in poor condition and could not simply be covered over. Removing it down to the underlying brickwork allowed the surfaces to be properly prepared and deeply replastered before the new finishes were installed. This essential remedial work was a major part of the project.
